Vice Mayor, Melissa Hunt
Melissa Hunt was born in Redding and lived
here in Shasta County through her graduation from Shasta Christian Academy
in Anderson in 1983.
Melissa moved to Los Angeles to obtain her Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Education and taught for two years before moving back to the north state.
She pursued further education at Simpson University where she received
her California Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials in 1992 and her Master's
of Arts Degree in Education in 1993. She taught 4th grade at Country Christian
School in Redding for 9 years.
For more experience in the business field, Melissa left the classroom
to work at Curves in Anderson. Along with the members and staff at Curves,
she was instrumental and headed up many fundraising events including,
food for Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance and holiday gifts for
Toys from the Heart.
In 2005-2006 Melissa served on the Federal Grand Jury for sixteen months
in Sacramento. She found this to be a very interesting and enlightening
experience.
Melissa is excited to be on the ground floor of the growth that she believes
Anderson is on the verge of experiencing. She wants the growth to be smart
growth that will make Anderson a well-rounded community and a force to
be reckoned with in the business arena.
