Small Business Development Center

The Shasta Cascade SBDC offers resources for small business including one-on-one advising, trainings and workshops, and funding assistance. Consultants offer their guidance and expertise to help build better businesses. They also offer low-cost informative seminars and workshops are designed to give small business owners immediate knowledge they can put into action in running their businesses.

Superior California Economic Development 
SCED works to bring in federal and private loan funds to help local businesses. They also provide assistance in economic development planning, coordination and implementation and provides small business training, counseling & finance assistance with the goal of creating stable, long-term employment opportunities in the private sector economy.

California Competes Tax Credit 
The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to come to California or stay and grow in California. Tax credit agreements are negotiated by GO-Biz and approved by a statutorily created “California Competes Tax Credit Committee,” consisting of the State Treasurer, the Director of the Department of Finance, the Director of GO-Biz, and one appointee each by the Speaker of the Assembly and Senate Committee on Rules. For fiscal year 2018-19, GO-Biz will accept applications for the California Competes Tax Credit during the following periods:
  • July 30, 2018, through August 20, 2018
  • January 2, 2019, through January 21, 2019
  • March 4, 2019, through March 25, 2019
